Copperworks American Single Malt Whiskey is created from 100% malted barley and twice-distilled in Scottish copper pot stills.
Prior to finishing for nearly eight months in a Jamaican rum cask, this whiskey made from pale malt completed its primary aging in two new American Oak casks. Both casks from Kelvin Cooperage were air-seasoned for a year and a half. One cask was char #2 and matured for four years, while the other cask was char #3 and matured for three years and nine months.
Tasting Notes: Colored like a freshly bloomed tiger lily, this whiskey presents florality and grassiness on the nose, though hints of tiramisu, sugarcane, mint, and almond are also remarkable. The ex-rum cask finish is undeniable on the palate with bright flavors of Hawaiian bread, papaya, ginger, and milk chocolate molasses puffs. The Jamaican rum cask is again evident on the lingering finish, with orgeat and falernum making appearances, too. This dram would serve you well in eggnog over the holidays, or straight up any time of year.
